Pickle Lovers Pack (Batch #5 Bundle)

Yet another lovely batch of cucumbers from Farmer Foster, this time the Silver Slicer variety which went nice and buttery with a tart tang.

The Sandwich Pickle is excellent on a sandwich and can be used in a variety of ways. Try adding them to salads and burgers, or enjoy them with cheese - the left over juices can even be used as a healthy dressing or to quick pickle something else!

The first is Pickle Juice, which was made form the cucumbers that were a bit large to work well as a sliced pickle. The cuces were much bigger and have a tougher skin and softer interior once fermtented makes them perfect for purpose made Pickle Juice. They had Fatalii chilli and Dill seeds in the ferment which gives a lovely fresh and fruity flavour. Once they are ready to bottle up, they are pressed to squeeze all the good juices out and make this lovely tonic that can be enjoyed as a daily health shot or in something creative.

So what happens with the left over pulp/mash from the Pickle Juice? I'm glad you asked, that is the next product: Pickle Salt. To further the low waste production of this batch, the left over mash was dehydrated and ground into a seasoning with the dilly pickley flavour, with a bit of extra chilli added to give it a nice punch!
